Can I protect my assets from a lawsuit?

Yes, you can! But you need to start now because once you suspect a lawsuit or have had one filed against you, it is too late to implement an asset protection plan into your life. I have a great lawyer; can’t I just have them do this for me?

Most lawyers are NOT asset protection specialized. The only attorney you would want to develop an asset protection plan for you is an asset protection or estate planning lawyer. This course will talk about how to find a solid lawyer but will provide you the knowledge and steps on how to setup an asset protection plan!

Do I even need a lawyer?

You do not need a lawyer to implement the majority of the information covered in this course. We do advise you hire one to help you set up some of the more advanced structures like trusts and limited liability partnerships though. Outside of that, you can do most of this yourself.

What are you going to teach me exactly?

I am going to cover how to protect your assets! We are in a high-risk profession, and as a business owner your risk goes up more. Therefore, I am going to cover how to structure a multitude of solid asset protection strategies into your life. We will cover everything from forming a trust to how to title assets appropriately to entity flow charts and much more!

Do I have to have a business to take advantage of the concepts in this course?

You do not, but I need you to be aware of something: your assets are at risk being an employed nurse practitioner. Your malpractice insurance should cover you in the case of a malpractice lawsuit, but there are limits to malpractice insurance and lawsuits outside of malpractice can happen to anyone! Additionally, forming business entities is a critical component to an asset protection plan outside of a trust, and we will discuss all that in this course.

I already have an LLC, isn’t that enough?

For a robust asset protection strategy, a simple LLC is not enough. While an LLC should shield you from your business liabilities, it is not a complex asset protection vehicle. You can easily integrate your current LLC into any of the asset protection plans I discuss into the course, which will further shield and safeguard everything you have worked so hard for!

Can I write off this course?

You bet! This is an activity that will help benefit your professional career. Therefore, this course is 100% tax deductible as I will explain in the course itself!

How much will it cost to set up some of the strategies you discuss in the course?

Many of the strategies discussed in this course can be done free and at low cost ($500-$1000). The most expensive component would be setting up the various trust structures I talk about, but those aren’t 100% necessary to setup a solid asset protection plan. If you want to setup the more advanced strategies discussed in this course, then it could easily cost $3,000-$5,000+.
