Do I need a specialized certification for laboratory testing? 

No. This falls within the scope of ANY nurse practitioner. 

Does this course provide guidance for actionable interventions?  

Participants will learn how to use laboratory findings to guide treatment methods and interventions for patients using functional medicine principles. Course instructors will provide real life examples and clinical pearls throughout this 14-hour course.  

Do I need functional medicine knowledge for this course? 

We advise you to have a basic understanding of functional medicine, but this course is applicable to any nurse practitioner, regardless of their current skill level. 

What kind of practice can implement this information? 

Any practice can benefit from the information in this course.The lab testing in this course can benefit everyone from the mental health patient to the hormone replacement therapy patient and everything in between! Lab testing can inform treatment protocols for mental health, hormone replacement, and many other services.  

Is a DEA number necessary? 

No. This line of medicine does not utilize controlled substances.  

Are these lab tests FDA approved? 

Some are and some are not. A variety of advanced and niche laboratory tests are not considered a medical necessity in many cases, and will not be FDA approved for a given indication. If you are a cash-only practice, FDA approval is not a concern.  

Will this offer CME? 

This course offers 18 CE hours. The Elite Nurse Practitioner is credentialed as a  CEU provider through the ANCC. CEU awarded through The Elite Nurse Practitioner applies to ANCC, AANP, and all boards of nursing. 

Will this course provide a certificate of completion? 

A certificate is issued at the end of the course that will display the CEU hours and verify your completion of this course. You can also submit this certificate to your malpractice carrier for reimbursement.
